1. Proprietary technology - exclusive AOX1 promoter libraries

Fine tuning of protein production for maximization of output

An exclusive library of synthetic AOX1 promoter variants - VTU´s highly proven 1st generation promoter variants - forms the core of VTU´s cutting-edge in house Pichia pastoris toolbox enabling high level protein expression for a variety of proteins. These methanol-inducible exclusive promoter variants enable the fine tuning of gene expression by selecting the perfect match of promoter/target gene combinations.

This unmatched technology platform was complemented by novel 2nd generation AOX1 promoter variants allowing for safe and economically viable methanol-free protein production through elimination of efforts and costs associated with methanol handling.

These unique promoter variants elicit high productivities already during the glycerol-based derepression phase obviating the initiation of methanol dosing for induction, thus enabling efficient methanol-free PAOX1 controlled production of recombinant proteins such as 15 g/L for CBH2 and 11 g/L for HSA upon glycerol feed only.

VTU´s high-throughput procedures paired with these exceptionally versatile and flexible promoter variants provide our customers with industrial high-performance expression strains capable of expressing a wide range of recombinant proteins with or without methanol induction.

VTU has a proven track record for a wide range of recombinant proteins with peak expression levels of 20 g/L of secreted protein.
