The Pichia pastoris expression system is ideally suited for high-level expression of recombinant proteins for therapeutic or industrial applications, as it offers many advantages (production levels often up to 10 g/L, high cell density fermentation protocols, and strong promoters) over other expression systems used for the production of many heterologous proteins.
VTU´s unique AOX1 promoter library for tunable protein expression
VTU´s core technology is a cutting-edge protein production platform based on its 1st and 2nd generation AOX1 promoter libraries enabling proper fine-tuning of gene expression by selecting the perfect match of promoter/target gene combinations.
VTU Technology complemented this proprietary technology with FTO tools such as a modular plasmid system, platform host strains and a set of helper proteins to meet further expression challenges.
VTU´s exclusive AOX1 promoter libraries control the expression of target gene(s) under two applicable cultivation regimes:
- Induction by methanol feed (1st generation AOX1 promoter library)
- Methanol-free-derepression under glycerol feed (2nd generation AOX1 promoter library)
